The closest big international airport to Granada is in Málaga. Granada does have its own (small) one too, but at the moment it only receives flights from Madrid, Barcelona and London Stansted (RyanAir).

Málaga is about 1.5 hours' drive from Granada. You can take a taxi from the airport, but this will cost you about 120€! Fortunately, there are buses too, and so you needn't pay more than 10€. The following is a description of how to get from Málaga to Granada by bus. It's a little bit long, but that's only because we want to make it as clear and easy as possible. It really isn't hard!

Once you have picked up your baggage at the baggage reclaim, follow the exit signs through a double set of doors and you will find yourself in the arrivals lounge (the place where people wait to meet people coming off the flights, usually holding up signs for them, etc.)

Turn to your right and exit the building through the door in front of you. You will find yourself in a covered area with a road. Turn right again and follow side of the building for about 30 metres, and you will come to the bus stop.

You need to take the number 19 bus (which comes roughly every half hour) to Málaga bus station. It costs about 1€ and takes about half an hour. It's pretty obvious which stop is the bus station (estacion de autobuses), since it's a big building with lots of buses! The bus usually has a screen telling you the name of the next stop anyway.

Once in Málaga bus station you need to go to the Alsina Graells office, and ask for a ticket to Granada (about 8€). Buses leave roughly every hour or so, but you should bear in mind that the last one leaves at 10pm, so if your flight gets in after 8.30pm you risk having to spend the night in Málaga.

Granada airport is only 12km from the city itself, so it really is very convenient. There are buses timed according to the flights that will take you into the centre for around 3€. There are taxis too, of course.

The bus (or coach) station in Granada is, for some strange reason, nowhere near the city centre! Never fear though, because there are plenty of taxis that can take you straight to the school for around 4€.
